Historical evidence showing how tennis table came about to be a known Olympic Sports game, owe its links to the British Army officers assigned in South Africa and India the year l880. A number of versions of names affiliation, "whiff whaff" and "gossima" by Parker Brothers; who manufactured a portable kit that included a table net, a netted-round ball, and a small wooden paddle, later, a more acceptable name based on its sound relevance on playtimes was created, and soon to this day, is by-word name of the sport, "ping pong"
British John Jacques in 1901, a sports-good manufacturer, registered table tennis, "Ping Pong," named used today. Prior to its trade name process, another Englishman named, James Gibb who toured the U.S. in 1900 brought home a hollow celluloid ball, tried playing it indoor with friends. Gibb name the game "ping pong," the mimic-like echo sound that results when the paddle strikes the ball, down when the celluloid ball hits the table.
Ping Pong has reached through to the Olympics officially in 1988 with singles and doubles competitions on both men and women. If you wish to learn table tennis, it is strongly recommended that you get a skilled instructor, or practice with a partner. Just like any other sports it demands much "in effort" from the particular player himself. It is important for a beginner that special techniques are discussed either, playing table tennis with a partner, or alone. Get a good start with good practiced-partner to get developed, or you'll be getting off soon from the best tennis-table foot.
Establishing "In Efforts" for Racket Speed and Control
1. Empowerment - Be calm. Don't take things for granted. Oftentimes when you gather yourself for greater opportunity for defense, it will open an opportunity to let opponent attack for points that you could have gotten.
2. Spinning - Make much spin as you wish but spin safely, allowing the ball to land safely inside the opponent's side.
3. Placement Control - Most important is the defense strategy. Play back from the table. Play it lengthier and low, to make slow the game.
4. Hitting - Play to hit the ball back safely. Your priority is to hit back the ball safely.
Three (3) of a Few Strategic Hit-Strokes Effective to Play Tennis Table
1. The Backhand Push Stroke - Standing squarely on the foot of the table, slightly fix left foot back, on bent knees while in this position, establish an "open position" bending the elbows upward and racket held up at chest level. Pivoting elbows downward stroking under the ball hitting over the net to the other side.
2. Forehand Drive - On a square position, bend knees and place right foot a bet further away from table. At the peak of the ball's bounce, meet the ball with forward-upward stroke all the while pivoting shoulders and waist to a straight-on position to the table, as you pull the closed racket into and upwards over the ball.
3. Forehand Push - Stand on your right foot slightly back of the left, and bend knees. Stand on the balls of your feet with the racket angle the same as that of backhand push. Pivot the elbow down and stroke under the ball like that of the backhand push.
Table tennis actually is a game strategically positioning definite angles of feet, knees, shoulders, waist, elbows, and arms in forward, upward and pivotal throw. It requires great patience and persistence to attain the necessary skills needed to muster it.
